Kristin (2)Welcome to The Blue Mug!

My name is Kristin and I so look forward to spending time with you.  I am the wife to my husband of 22 years and the mother of our two school-age children, ages 9 and 11.  Before becoming a mom, I spent the majority of my adult career working in the public schools as an elementary school teacher and guidance counselor.  Later, I left the field of education in the search of my true calling, which, amongst a variety of pursuits, led me to write a book manuscript and then to start a small home-organizing business that kept me busy up until  I embarked on this lifetime adventure called motherhood.  It is here, in this beautiful, messy journey of being a mom, that I discovered art as a means of healing and self-expression.

Through my passage as a young woman encountering the pain of poorly developed coping skills, anxiety/depression, infertility and the diagnosis of our son’s autism, I now find myself humbled and in awe of God’s ability to transform the seemingly hard and ugly into His beauty. Eternally grateful for my faith in God, a faith nurtured throughout my childhood, I offer  you my own  awkward wanderings in the desire to share the grace and mercy that God provides  in the midst of our struggles.

Warm mug in hand, I am delighted to have you join me here at The Blue Mug.  Stay and linger for a while.  Let us share our hearts in the warmth of  His presence.

“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”  Matthew 18:20
